Central Oregon Agriculture Research Center (COARC) is located in Madras, Oregon – the heart of Central Oregon’s seed production acreage. COARC’s decisions regarding research, educational and local programs are driven by the input and needs of the local agricultural community. COARC strives to conduct research and choose programs that bring economic and social value to Central Oregon.
The experiment station is able to contribute economically through applied research, product registration, new crop evaluation and educational programs and services. In addition, COARC is able to implement programs such as smoke management support; interact with local schools in the research garden and learning center; and organize the Central Oregon Farm Fair and Trade show.
Oregon Agricultural Experiment Stations do not help just residents of Oregon. Their knowledge is shared across many other states and countries.
